Benchmark International Drives Impact with Volunteers and a $25,000 Donation to Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay

March 20, 2026

Benchmark International recently partnered with Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay to support its mission of preparing young people for success.

Tyrus O’Neill, Chief Executive Officer of the Americas, and Leo VanderSchuur, Chief Operating Officer of the Americas, joined team members in volunteering at Muma BizTown and JA Finance Park alongside the Community and the Tampa Bay Lightning. Benchmark International employees volunteered to guide students through immersive simulations designed to build practical skills in financial decision-making, business, and career exploration.

As part of this initiative, Benchmark International presented a $25,000 donation to Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay to expand access to programs focused on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and workforce readiness.

Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay continues to play a vital role in bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, equipping students with the tools needed to succeed in an evolving landscape.

“Junior Achievement who is one of our partners, puts on an excellent program to help children throughout the community and learning about finance, about business, about economics and entrepreneurship, about budgeting, and we really want to be a part of this event because opportunity and financial literacy are very important missions withing Benchmark International,” said Tyrus O’Neill CEO of the Americas.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to investing in education, empowering students, and creating lasting impact across the Tampa Bay community.

“Our community is so important to the Lightning and Benchmark International, and it starts at such an early age. We’re glad we get to work with Hillsborough County Schools and Junior Achievement to be involved in such a valuable lesson here with BizTown. It’s amazing to see the structure and the business fronts that are set up here and the important life lessons that these students will carry with them,” said Caitlin O’Halloran, Coordinator of Community Relations and Social Impact for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

This collaboration reflects Benchmark International’s commitment to education across Tampa Bay. Benchmark International is proud to support initiatives that empower students and encourage growth.
