Mr. Nelson is an experienced Chief Financial Officer and investment banker with extensive experience and success in financial strategy, capital raising, and international advisory roles. He holds dual Swedish and U.S. citizenship, is fluent in both languages, and has lived and worked extensively across Europe and North America, giving him a strong international perspective.
As Managing Director for the Nordic region at Benchmark International, Patrik is responsible for establishing and expanding the firm’s award-winning M&A capabilities for Nordic SME business owners. With his strong mix of deal experience, leadership and international perspective, Patrik is well suited to lead these operations and support clients on cross-border transactions.

Patrik’s career began in corporate development roles, and he has an extensive track record in cross-border transactions, acquisitions, integrations, and establishing new business units to drive sustainable growth. He brings over 25 years of investment banking and corporate leadership experience, combining his extensive expertise with a strong commercial and operational perspective. He has held senior roles at leading advisory firms including Evercore Partners, UBS Investment Bank, Access Partners, and TAP Advisors, advising clients on mergers & acquisitions, private financings, and strategic growth initiatives across many sectors including telecoms, media, fintech, and power & utilities.
Complementing his advisory background, Patrik has served as CFO of a B2B iGaming startup, where he led financial operations, budgeting, strategic decision-making, and successful capital raises from venture funds and private investors.
